Depeche Mode have announced a new live feature-length movie titled M. The film showcases footage of their recent live shows in Mexico City, which were part of the extensive 2023-2024 ‘Memento Mori’ tour during which the band played to more than three million fans in 112 shows around the globe. Dave Gahan and the band played in front of nearly 200,000 Mexican fans. The project is directed by Fernando Frias and will reportedly take the audience on a “profound musical journey”.

“Through Frias’ creative lens, the cinematic experience weaves footage from the three sold-out shows at Mexico City’s Foro Sol Stadium to explore the parallels between the themes on Depeche Mode’s latest album ‘Memento Mori’ and the deep connection to death and mortality in Mexican culture. The film also aims to hold up a mirror to the band’s global influence, as well as the powerful connection they have maintained with fans over the years.
