DeathbyRomy: A unique blend of genres in ‘Hollywood Forever’

Hollywood Forever is the latest album by Los Angeles-born and based songwriter-singer Romy Flores, known by her stage name DeathbyRomy.

A blend of alternative rock, dark pop, and trap, Flore describes her unique music as “the love-child of pop, trap, industrial, and cinematic”. She cites her diverse influences as The Beatles, Björk, and Bring Me the Horizon. Her thematic lyrics deal with troubling issues such as anxiety, depression, and suicide. The interplay between life and death is a topic in Flores’s music. It also stems from her part-Mexican traditions and beliefs. These include the annual Day of the Dead celebration.
