Venus Grrrls is an all-female rock band from Leeds, England. They blend alt-rock with synths to create a dark yet empowering sound that explores the feminine experience. The band consists of Grace Kelly on vocals and rhythm guitar. Eliza Lee plays lead guitar. Hannah Barraclough is on bass. Grace Stubbings handles the synth, and Gabby Cooke is on drums.
The band draws inspiration from the ’90s Riot Grrrl movement. This was a feminist punk rock subculture led by bands such as Bikini Kill. They also incorporate Gothic and astrological themes into their music and look. Here’s a few of their music videos.
The band’s most recent single is ‘Eighteen Crows’. This was preceded by singles such as ‘Bloodsick, ‘Hex’, ‘Aries’, ‘Violet State of Mind’ and ‘Goth Girl’.
