Wargasm’s ‘Vigilantes’ music video explodes across the screen

‘Vigilantes’ is the latest music video from British electronic duo Wargasm. It was shot by Chris Wade and co-directed with the band. Their previous music video was the equally frenetic “Circle Pit”.

The band’s music is commonly categorised as a mix of electro-punk, nu-metal and riot grrrl.

London-based Wargasm was formed in 2018 by Sam Matlock and Rachel Alexandra Hastings, aka Milkie Way. They took their name from the L7 song of the same name. In a 2020 interview, the pair shared their thoughts. The “War” half of their name signified “this kind of angry, visceral red energy.” The “gasm” half signified “the euphoria that you get when you listen to a song.” You think, at that moment, “this is so fucking hard.” They are listed as “Wargasm (UK)” in several territories. This is due to the existence of other bands from the United States, Finland, Sweden, and France.
